Digitalization is a necessity and prerequisite for the development of modern society, but it leads to a digital gap. The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of the digital divide on social exclusion. To this end, the article examines domestic and foreign approaches to the definition of social exclusion, concluding that there are differences in terminology due to the social context. The authors note the negative consequences of the digital divide in education, health, the labor market, and international relations. The conclusion is that the digital divide reinforces the existing social order and foundations in society, impedes the mobility of maginalized groups, and exacerbates social exclusion. The authors cite possible ways to minimize the negative impacts of the digital divide: development of infrastructure, adjustment of educational programs, social support measures, etc.
