Social stigmatization of representatives of the LGBT-community

Social stigmatization and its negative social and psychological consequences for stigmatized social group are in the field of scientific interest for many sociologists. Person with a stigma has problems with socialization, self-acceptance and social role realization. This also prevents the establishment of close interpersonal relations with other people without stigma. In this article we focus on the phenomenon of LGBT social stigma according to the I. Goffman's work «Stigma and social identity».
