Social and philosophical foundations of the concept of “soft power” in the modern political system

The article analyzes the definitions of concept of “soft power” from the perspective of coercive, influence, technological, constructivist, instrumental, resource, and romantic approaches. We have substantiated the need for socio-philosophical analysis of the phenomenon due to its prospects both in theoretical understanding and in the revitalization of diplomatic principles of using non-violent methods and technologies of influence, and extended the semantic field of the concept from the socio-philosophical perspective. “Soft power” is understood as a strategic resource of a state, organization or group, which is expressed by a set of non-violent methods and technologies of influence, ensuring the location of the object of influence in one's favor and requiring certain material and non-material inputs. We have emphasized good perspectives of the dialogue form of “soft power” in modern political discourse.
