Socio-cultural and historical factors of Russian-speaking migrant communities' development

Different approaches to periodization of emigration from the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and Russia are compared. Particular attention is paid to the cultural identity of the emigrants with different background and from different time periods. Based on the analysis the author concludes that there are two cultural groups of migrants. Such division is a result of different cultural and social background and terms of departure.
