Socio-economic situation in the region as assessed by the Vologda oblast population that trusts government institutions

The crisis in the Russian society today requires certain political and economic measures, both at the country level as a whole and in its regions. Official statistics show that the population of the Vologda Oblast feels the deteriorating socio-economic situation. The implementation of anti-crisis policy can receive support or provoke passive resistance of the population. Assessment of the level of trust and analysis of the vision of the situation by those who expressed confidence in the power structures acquire practical importance for understanding of the fact who the authorities can rely on in their activities. The results of the public opinion monitoring carried out by ISEDT RAS show the growth of negative assessments of changes in the socio-economic situation in the region. Due to the fact that public opinion lags behind in its perception of the changes taking place, it is possible to predict the continuation of this trend.
