Social and economic aspects of the youth value system in the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania

The problem of the youth value system is of special importance in the reformed society trying to create a knowledge economy. The processes in youth community have an impact on reality and prospects of territorial social and economic development. The study analyzes the results of the survey conducted in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in 2016 and involved 1,500 young people (the students of high schools, secondary specialized educational institutions, and universities). The vast majority of young people are concerned about the economic situation in the republic. In general, more than half of the respondents relate their life strategies to the departure from the region. The authors conclude that a shift in mood in the youth society requires both a more active youth policy and an effective strategy of social and economic development of the country and its regions.
