Socioeconomic development of the Republic of Crimea: current state

The Republic of Crimea is a unique region with a favorable economic and geographical position at the intersection of highways between the countries of Europe and Asia. The region has special coastal position, fertile soil, warm climate, as well as the presence of natural and recreational resources. The transformation of the legal field of the Republic of Crimea was carried out during the transition period of 3 years. On the whole, a change in the legal status of the region radically affected the development of its economy. The changes affected a number of industries, namely, economic ties were broken and the issue of material support for the region, increasing its competitiveness and investment attractiveness became relevant. To reflect the current situation, we have conducted an analysis of the main socioeconomic indicators based on the statistical data on the sectors of the economy industry, agriculture, construction, etc. The study revealed that the Crimea is characterized by uneven development of natural resource, production and social potential, due to its unique geopolitical position. This influenced the specialization of the regions, as well as the level of development of their infrastructure, as a result of which disproportionality has developed on the peninsula within regional development.
