Social and political mechanisms to combat terrorist threats in the Russian Federation

Terrorist threats as a social and political phenomenon are a combination of antisocial actions. In this regard, the understanding of the phenomenon of terrorism and the processes initiated by it, involving both classical programs and new approaches based on the correction of the existing estimates of the current trends in development, becomes central to modern science. A comprehensive scientific discussion of the phenomenon of terrorism is necessary in view of the worldwide increase in the number of terrorist attacks and their global consequences. Terrorism remains a dangerous factor destabilizing the social and political situation in the country, a threat to the national security and the territorial integrity of Russia. Terrorism is not limited to specific geographical areas and is becoming an increasingly transnational phenomenon. The author examines the current state of the social and political mechanisms of countering terrorism within the Russian Federation, provides options to improve their effectiveness in combating terrorist threats.
