Socio-psychological directions of adaptation of military personnel retiring to the reserve

The article deals with the problems of social adaptation of military personnel retiring to the reserve. The author emphasizes the social significance of this problem: successful adaptation contributes to the stability and security of society as a whole, since these military personnel actively participate in economic and cultural life. Inadequate adaptation can lead to difficulties with employment, social isolation, and even offenses. The paper analyzes the role of personal and state support in the adaptation process and shows that they should complement each other, providing an integrated approach. Personal support from family and friends affects the emotional state, while state support provides stability and a wide range of services. On the base of the theoretical analysis, the author identifies the key indicators of adaptation success. The results show that government support programs do not fully ensure a high level in all these indicators. In addition, many military personnel who do not participate in such programs need additional assistance, especially the access to psychological care and social integration. The article calls for a more comprehensive approach to solving the problem of social adaptation of military personnel leaving to the reserve, taking into account their psychological and social needs.
