The social-psychological characteristics of the iconographic fixing of gender disparity in the scientific-research activity

This article analyses the characteristics of the science image, among others the gender disparity of scholars, which has fixed in iconographic documents through the example of the Soviet period painting. There are studied the social representations about research activity content, detailing appearance of a female-scholar in the painters perception. The paper concludes about the existence of stereotypical image of a researcher, the role undervaluation of a female in the Soviet period science, broadcasted in artwork and forming purposefully a public mind about the scientific activity.
