Social and psychological problems of urban space

The paper is devoted to the socio-psychological problems of the population of the megalopolis, which affect the degree of comfort of the people in urban space and the adaptation of various social groups to the urban environment. The authors analyze some scientific approaches to the social and psychological challenges of urban space and the main advances in this sphere. The results of interviews with city inhabitants are given. A wide range of socio-psychological problems of citizens is revealed; the reasons for stress, melancholy, apathy and psychological fatigue emphasized by the people are formulated; the factors of life satisfaction in a megacity such as the possibility of selfactualization, meeting the needs, good education, etc. are defined. The article concludes that better measures should be taken to make the city a comfortable place for living. There is a need to develop special events for the people with social and psychological problems when municipal authorities plan urban development programs. The novelty of the work is the research of the causes of socio-psychological problems in Novosibirsk in the conditions of a research experiment in the underground. As a result, a complex of socio-psychological states of inhabitants in the urban environment of the megalopolis is identified and an average characteristic of the social and psychological comfort of the population in the city space is developed.
