Social and psychological portrait of the personality of a criminal committed illegal deprivation of liberty

The article presents a retrospective view on the problem of the personality of a criminal committed illegal deprivation of liberty, as well as it reviews its most typical properties and features that form a kind of social and psychological portrait as an element of the forensic characteristic of this type of crime. Based on the formulated concept, the authors consider the following elements: the objective necessity of a comprehensive analysis of the personality of the suspect (the accused) in order to resolve the key challenges of the initial stage of any crime investigation; the origins of the theoretical and practical study of the physiological and behavioral characteristics of the process participants; the formation of a system of forensically significant features of a human in the aspect of forensic characteristics of crimes at the end of 20th - early 21st centuries. In addition, the paper reviews six key elements that form the content of forensically relevant information about the suspect (the accused) in connection with the investigation of illegal deprivation of liberty (Article 127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) involving practical examples and investigation statistics. As a result, the author formulates an integrated social and psychological portrait of a person committed illegal deprivation of liberty.
