Social and sacred in the existential space of hospital churches

The article deals with interaction of social and sacred principles in the existential space of the orthodox hospital churches. The study, the results of which are published in this article, is an initiative one and is focused, above all, on the arguments concerning the primary aesthetic and philosophical (archetypal) experiences of the Orthodox church space, and the arguments concerning the tradition of religious interpretation of illness as a personal and social challenge, and church as a universal spiritual hospital uniting various ethical and social, prayer-related and sacral-liturgical aspects.
