Social inequality and crime level: interregional analysis

The article presents the results of an inter-regional study aimed at identifying the impact of indicators of population inequality, reflecting the degree of socio-economic stratification of society, on the crime rate. The crime index is calculated for the regions of Russia. A correlation analysis was carried out between the corresponding indicators, and time series (with forward and backward lags) were examined to test the hypothesis of the effect of inequality on crime.
