Health inequality as an object of scientific discourse: main approaches and directions in the international studies

Social inequality in health as a global social problem, which refers to one of the traditional questions of the scientific and public discourse due to the importance of health in the life of the individual and society as a whole. Overcoming socially determined differences in the health status of certain social groups, between the population of different countries is a priority task of the «2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development». Among domestic scientists, this topic is a relatively new, but relevant direction, which makes it necessary to study it. The analysis of existing publications shows that significant research experience has been accumulated in the development of a considered problem. In this regard, in this work, based on the historical-comparative approach and the method of qualitative analysis of scientific works devoted to the problem of social inequality in health, the main stages, approaches and directions of its study in the foreign research field are highlighted.
