Social services for the elderly: legal foundations and technologies

The article examines the key problems of the elderly in conditions of economic instability: deterioration of health, mental and emotional state, loneliness, low standard of living and well-being. The level and quality of life of the older generation is an important element in the formation of their physical well-being and mental state. The features of social services for the elderly in modern Russian society are considered. In order to improve and maintain their health, activity, receive support, and in the absence of decent living conditions, elderly people can stay in stationary or semi-stationary institutions that provide a full range of social services, and can also receive home care while remaining in their usual home conditions. The regulatory and legal framework governing the sphere of social services for the elderly in the Russian Federation has been determined.
