This study examines the role of mega events as drivers of social reproduction within the framework of national strategy, with a specific focus on the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Adopting a social reproduction perspective and employing content analysis of official documents and scholarly works, this research elucidates China’s sports development model and its interplay with political strategy. The findings indicate that mega events, when strategically integrated into national policy, function as effective mechanisms for delivering phased public services and achieving social development objectives. The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics served as a pivotal platform for this process, wherein the synergistic global influence of China and the Olympic Movement facilitated social reproduction outcomes that surpassed strategic expectations, generating significant positive momentum for national image-building and economic growth. This study offers valuable insights for scholars in political science, sports studies, sociology, and related fields.
