The study analyzes the social health of Russian society and its relationship with social and demographic processes. The social health is defined from the perspective of subjective morbidity, which is expressed in its insignificance for the individual rather than the absence of disease. The research shows the impact of demographic processes on morbidity rate, life expectancy and other medical indicators with the special focus on natural population movement. At the same time, the role of public health in shaping the demographic structure of society is reviewed. The social health of Russians and residents of Western countries is compared. The analysis is based on the reports of the Federal State Statistics Service. The research shows that in the 1990s - the 2010s the social health has improved.
