The article discusses the issues of legal regulation of rotational shift work in the northern regions in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection. The social problems that have arisen in connection with the outbreaks of covid-19 in several northern camps in 2020 are analyzed. Their dependence on imperfections in the regulatory framework is revealed. It is concluded that the administrative and legal regulation of the rotational shift method of labor organization does not correspond to modern challenges, which leads to a deterioration in working conditions and social insecurity of workers, primarily in the field of health protection and medical care. The necessity of establishing standards for providing rotational camps with social infrastructure facilities is shown. The normative consolidation of the mechanisms of interaction of enterprises with a rotational shift method of work with municipal and regional authorities on the functioning of camps on their territory and maintaining worker's health is proposed.
