Social values as determinants of demographic policy

The author analyses causes why the state demographic policy provides no expected positive results. Among them are: a catastrophic disparity in the financial and social position of the main productive strata of the Russian population, instability of the vital activities of most families, rising mortality rates, decline in the physical, psychical and social health of the population. He holds that the RF Government should focus their attention on raising the quality of life of the Russian families that would enlarge their possibilities and willingness to support the demographic measures of the State.
