This article discusses social factors of language behavior transformation, such as social status of languages, types of their interactions and their functional distribution in major areas of communication, language competence of the various national and socio-demographic groups, typical types of linguistic conflicts and language policy, and especially the language situation in the regions with different cultural and historical areas.
