Durkheim’s social facts as a basis for understanding moral facts

This article examines the concept of social facts proposed by Émile Durkheim and its significance for understanding moral facts. Attention is paid to the key aspects of Durkheim's theory, such as the objectivity, externality, and coerciveness of social facts, as well as their influence on the formation of moral norms in society. The main objective of the article is to demonstrate the interrelationship between social and moral facts, allowing for a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind the formation of the public moral-ethical sphere. To confirm the proposed methodology for interpreting social facts, the article suggests an appeal to specific historical examples.
