Social practices of family studies in the development of youth readiness for marriage and family life: relevance and potential

In the practical implementation of demographic (marital and reproductive) behavior of the population, the readiness of young people for marriage and family life is of particular importance. Its basis is formed by the socio-psychological component, including the value orientation towards the family, the motives of family behavior, the availability of competencies and personal qualities necessary for a successful family life. The article presents a brief overview and significance of educational family studies programs. Based on the analysis of the results of the interregional program implemented by the author “Love. Family. Happiness” (2012-2022) presents the demand for such courses and social practices for modern youth and their potential in the demographic development of Russia. The proposed practical materials can be used as a methodological basis for educational family studies programs, the implementation of social projects and the formation of public policy in the sphere of family values and demography.
