In the context of the knowledge economy, attention is being paid to the use of organizational, scientific, technical, managerial and social technologies in the formation of a "new social structure" in which science becomes decisive in achieving the goals of social development. However, as a result of the study, limitations in the development of scientific activity were identified: weakening of attention in the training of scientific personnel in universities, the collapse of scientific schools during the crisis of the 80-90s of the XX century, lack of interest of enterprises and organizations in scientific developments, etc. Particular attention is paid to the lack of a strategy for the development of science that considers the life activity, viability and life support of workers in the scientific sphere. In order to overcome the existing contradictions, the article presents directions for implementing a human-oriented approach to the organization of scientific activity in relation to various groups of workers.
