Social media and messengers as a new space for the implementation of modern public governance

Бесплатный доступ

This article examines the influence of social networks on the formation of a “new sociality” and the active introduction of social networks into public life. Over time, more and more social processes are moving online, and actors spend more time on social networks. These trends indicate the need for active expansion of government institutions and politicians into the electronic space, because social networks, as communication channels, are the most representative and mobile in relation to traditional communication mechanisms. And the absence of a state presence and a weak image policy inflict undoubted damage on the image of the state and contribute to the formation of a negative image. Within the framework of the article, a sociological study was carried out, which confirmed the existing fears. But despite this, citizens are ready for participation and consider electronic interaction as a new stage in the relationship “citizen-state”.
