The social portrait and the peculiarities of business activity motivation of "The Russian master" in the interpretation of Russian thinkers of the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries

In the article the essence of a social phenomenon, which in the XIX - early XX centuries was labelled by Russian thinkers "the Russian master". The author points out that this notion, being incompatible with the notion "employer", absorbed national ideas about proper behavior strategy in the sphere of economy, which general outline formed in the Russian public thought not as a mere speculation, but as a result of a scrupulous analysis of the real practice of economical activity.
