International students’ sociocultural adaptation in higher educational institutions of large and border cities of the RF (on materials of the Russian researchers) for 2011-2016

This article studies the works of contemporary Russian researchers devoted to the issues of social and cultural adaptation of international students in higher educational institutions. Some features of international students' sociocultural adaptation in the Russian higher educational institutions are distinguished based on studying of problems that an international student faces when training. The paper considers the ways to overcome the social and cultural adaptation problems in higher educational institutions located in the large and border cities of Russia. Currently training offoreign students is a certain indicator of an educational institution's status, it raises competitiveness of a Russian higher educational institution in the international educational market, brings an economic benefit to both an educational institution, and national economy in general. Moreover, as the analysis has shown, educational migration can positively influence demographic indicators of the country.
