Sociocultural deviations in the verbal behavior of students: a sociological analysis

The paper presents the results of a study on sociocultural deviations in the verbal behavior of students. The survey was conducted in educational institutions of the city of Belgorod and involved university and school students, university professors, lecturers of secondary vocational educational institutions, and school teachers. In addition, the sources of such deviation as foul language were analyzed. Respondents showed their attitude towards obscene vocabulary and proposed measures that could be effective in combating this deviation of verbal behavior. Studying the verbal behavior of this social group both gives us an idea about the current state of our society and allows us to see the future progress that is essential for the purposeful and successful opposition to negative trends.
