Biology is the science of the most amazing phenomenon - life. From its very beginning to its natural completion. The emergence of life on our planet is rightly considered by many to be a real miracle. But an even greater miracle is the appearance of intelligent life, consciousness capable of analysis and synthesis, and the deliberate transformation of the environment. Since biology is the science of life, and humanity is the totality of living beings, man and biology have been closely linked for many centuries. The emergence of biology as an independent science occurred as a result of people's desire to systematize and increase knowledge about wildlife. Subsequently, numerous branches of biology were formed: botany, zoology, biochemistry, mycology, microbiology and others. They arose as a person mastered other fields of science and found a relationship between them. Thanks to various devices, such as, for example, a microscope and a microtome, people managed to penetrate into the microcosm and discover similarities between all living organisms at the cellular and subcellular levels. People have learned to perform various manipulations with cells and their elements, to create new animal breeds, plant varieties, bacterial strains. The topic of the relationship of society with nature is relevant at all times, and due to the fact that human intervention in life mechanisms is becoming deeper and more intense and, it seems, will soon reach its apogee, this issue is becoming increasingly popular. The purpose of this work is to consider the development of biological science in connection with the socio-cultural problems that accompany it.
