The sociolinguistic factors of the communicative situation and their realization in modern English secondary school textbooks

The article deals with the problem of organizing foreign language learning taking into account some sociolinguistic factors relevant to successful communication.The author has done thorough research of modern sociolinguistics and selected the most important factors (communicative intention as an aim, status, role, relations, place) which effect the choice of the speech register. The second part of the article is devoted to the analysis of some modern secondary school textbooks from the point of view of the realization of these sociolinguistic factors in teaching.
