Sociological model of family policy management: theory and practice by case study of the PRC

Бесплатный доступ

The article presents a theoretical and empirical analysis of the phenomenon of family policy. The author develops a sociological model of family policy that includes factors, directions, principles, goals and objectives, and subjects of management. The author implements an integral approach in sociology (the Theory of Structuration by A. Giddens). The model shows the interrelationship between the practices of subjects of family policy and the emerging stable structures. The model is empirically approved based on the materials of the People's Republic of China. The author notes that the most attention in the process of managing family policy in China is devoted to the development of a life-supporting direction (improving the quality of life of families) and the demographic trend (birth control). At the same time, inadequate consideration of the influence of sociocultural factors on family policy creates risks of degradation of the family institution in the PRC.
