Sociological views of Nikolai Konstantinovich Mikhailovsky

The article is devoted to the ideas, thoughts and convictions of the famous Russian sociologist of the XIX century. Nikolai Konstantinovich Mikhailovsky lived in the era of great changes, when new social science was born. This science used the principle of objectivity as a methodological basis. N.K. Mikhailovsky believed in human, his ability to be exalted due to intellectual and spiritual growth. The fight for individuality as a symbol of human aspirations was the central theme of his work. A person should not be absorbed in society and reduced to the role of a gear. Human must follow his ideals and build a society where everything will be subordinate to his interests.
