Sociology of design: design language as a multifunctional system

The research conception is determined by the interpretation of the design language as a specific sign system supporting development of person’s holistic idea of the world and a diversity of aesthetic values functioning in it by means of particular visual arts. The author identifies the functions performed by the design language in the society and considers its meaning-forming role in the life of a person. The article analyses the design language as a multifunctional system.
