The economic theory of property rights distinguishes three alternative property systems: the systems of private, state and common (communal) property. At the same time, many economic researches focus on the opposition between private and public property, and the function of the latter is performed by state and communal property. However, private property is recognized by economists as more significant in comparison with a public property, despite the fact that each of them performs its own social and economic functions that are essential for the healthy development of social relations. From the standpoint of economic sociology and the sociology of property, this contradiction is considered in the context of the main dilemma of sociology that is the contradiction between the society and the individual. Besides, the study notes the lack of the mode of common (private and collective) property because it is a derivative of the mode of private property.
