The article considers the content of the notion «the general culture of elementary school student» in pedagogy. The author reveals the topicality of the problem, underlines the necessity for the detailed analysis of the components of the notion. Based on the analysis of psychological, pedagogical and culturological sources, the theoretical understanding of the notion is given. The structure of the notion seen as the precondition of the process of elementary school student's general culture formation is discussed.
