The authors study the modernization of the system of information resources of culture and raise the problem of preservation of electronic cultural heritage. Special attention is paid to the cultural cluster that exists only in a virtual environment, which is formed and developed by various stakeholders and has no formal institutionalization. The proposed solution is based on the new formats of effective organization and storage of information aggregatea and information flows. The article considers the history of the issue of preservation of electronic cultural heritage. The importance of preserving information about modern culture for the future of science, analytics and cultural education is demonstrated. The problems of preservation of digital cultural heritage and the relevance of their solutions are discussed in the context of the formation of a single electronic space of knowledge. The directions of study and design of new approaches and formats for the preservation of digital cultural heritage are outlined. The task of archiving cultural processes concentrated in the Internet is set. The concept of project it strategy and private cultural initiative it strategy is introduced. Perspective questions of formation of ideology of the created institutes of memory of a new format are defined.
