Conjunction combinations marking the syntactic semantic of complex syntactic unit

The article analyzes the interphrasal means of connection in a complex syntactic unit compared to the functions of similar coordinating conjunctions with concretizers in compound sentences. Conjunction combinations in a complex syntactic unit are characterized by a more profound semantic of the second conjunction component. In the process of grammaticalization, adverbs in complex syntactic units obtain derivative meanings and new syntactic functions, and become involved in the system of relational means. Both in compound sentences and in complex syntactic units, relations are specified with the help of concretizers which are freely combined with non-derivative conjunctions. The range of conjunction combinations used as means of connection in a complex syntactic unit is notably larger than that of compound sentences. A large group of specific conjunction combinations specialized for usage in complex syntactic units is specified.
