The results of the researches in the field of the mental development study of somaticly ill children are discussed in the article. The article is written in the field of medical psychology. The development peculiarities of self-concept, cognitive activity, communication and internal picture of disease of ill children are considered in details. The social-psychological factors and conditions, that determine the development process of a somaticly ill child, are systematized and generalized. The totality of arguments and work experience in this field are shown. The article also outlines the basic directions of the corrective work with somaticly ill children.
