Explicit and implicit methods of expressing the modal meaning of possibility in F. M. Dostoevsky's "Crime and punishment" and its Spanish translation

In this article the implicit means expressing the modal meaning of possibility presented in the Russian original of Dostoevsky's novel are compared to the corresponding means in Spanish as being explicitly presented in translation. The resulting trends - towards more implicit expression of modal meaning of possibility in Russian and more explicit expression of the same meaning in Spanish - reveal the higher modal capacity of Russian expressive means as compared to their Spanish counterparts.
