Correlation of value approaches in the study of the problem of searching for life purpose

The article discusses some approaches to understanding of the problem of life purpose. The author focuses on the value component of the issue. Comparison of the axiological components in different historical periods has allowed the author to build overall civilization genesis of human's awareness of his mission. The social mechanisms participating in development of person's understanding of his capabilities and social identity structure today this phenomenon in its extrapolation on topical present-day issues.
