This article examines the relationship between the concepts of “global governance” and “authority in international politics”. The аuthor examines various approaches to the concept of global governance as a decentralized system in which authority plays a key role in ensuring legitimacy and effectiveness. Authority is viewed as the ability of actors to achieve recognition of their decisions and norms, which facilitates the coordination of actions and the formation of global rules. The article highlights the importance of authority for the successful functioning of global governance in the context of growing international interdependence.
