Among the relevant issues of the Paleolithic archaeology there is spatial patterning of heterogeneous habitation structures of various types, which have clear borders and are separated from each other within the plan. The structures are revealed in the same stratigraphic position, their chronology being similar. Given flint materials have identical technical and typological characteristics, the question arises: should such habitation structures be considered remains of one site or should they be regarded as traces of multiple visits by some kin groups of hunters in different periods at intervals of one season or several seasons? Examining the materials retrieved from the third layer at the Tretiy Mys Late Paleolithic site, the aim of the research team was to compare various characteristics and traits of two heterogeneous habitation structures in order to identify if they were synchronous or asynchronous.
