The problem of taking into account the native language in improving the system of teaching Russian is really old and has been widely discussed in the scientific literature. However, to date, there has been such a strong gap between the achievements of contrast linguistics and the degree of its application in linguodidactics, that some experts speak of applied contrastive linguistics as a discipline that is poorly developed and has a huge untapped potential.
