The new oil flax variety Avgust

The new oil flax variety Avgust was developed by a method of individual selection from the hybrid population of the 3rd generation from crosses of breeding lines 34825 and 34577. After a competitive variety trials conducted in 2011-2013 the variety Avgust exceeded the standard variety Severny on seed yield on 0.15 t per ha, oil content in seeds - on 3.1%, oil yield - on 109 kg per ha. The vegetative period duration of the variety Avgust is six day less than the same one of the standard variety Severny. The variety Avgust is differed with a very high resistance to fusarium, shattering losses and lodging.
