Population structure of Yakutia in the years 1939-1959

For the first time ever basing upon the materials of the national censuses of 1939 and 1959 the research deals with essential aspects of the demographic history of the Republic. The author proves that the census of 1939 is trustworthy, there were no distortions in Yakutia data there. The article considers national structure of population, occupational spheres, literacy level in Yakutia in the context of the region development.
