The purpose of the study is to consider issues related to the personnel composition of the party committees of the Khakass Autonomous Region in the 1960s. Objectives of the study: to trace changes in the composition of the party bodies of the region, to study the age composition of party workers, to consider the educational level of party personnel. By the beginning of the 1960s the number of communists in the region grew, which made it possible to have a large choice for the selection of nomenclature personnel. Workers in industry, agriculture, and education who showed themselves from the best side were called up to the party nomenclature. Much attention was paid to the professional training of party workers. Higher education for them was the key to a successful career. Many employees of party committees had not only professional, but also party education, which they received at the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow and in party schools in other cities. The party nomenclature of the region included people of different nationalities, but Russians predominated. The involvement of representatives of the indigenous nationality in the ranks of party workers was a weak point in the personnel policy of the regional party organization. characteristic feature of the 1960s there was a change of generations of party workers. Young people who were born in the 1930s came to the party bodies. They entered adulthood after the Great Patriotic War, they were not dominated by the fear of repression, they already had other views on life than the previous generation of party workers.
