State of endothelial function in patients with acromegaly

The estimation of endothelium state has been done with 85 (not smoking) people, including 22 with acromegaly, 36 with hypertension of II stage and 27 healthy subjects. The content of circulating desquamated endothelial cells in the blood, the sum of nitrates, nitrites, and the sample with reactive hyperemia has been identified to assess endothelium-dependent vasodilation. The study showed that patients with acromegaly as well as with hypertension have endothelial dysfunction, but the degree of endothelial dysfunction in these groups of patients is not the same.
