The physical-and-chemical studies of the knee cartilaginous and bone tissues were made in mongrel dogs after 30% lengthening of the leg using the Ilizarov technique. Degenerative changes of the cartilaginous tissue and decrease of mineralization in the subchondral spongy bone tissue of the experimental and contralateral joints. The results of the work demonstrated great reorganization of the processes of energy metabolism and that of regeneration of the bone and cartilage tissues of the articular zone during lengthening.
