State and development of competition in the elite seed production of the Altai territory

The article considers the situation on the market of elite seed production in the Altai Territory, indicates the self-sufficiency of the region in seed material, shows the total number of elite seed farms and their structure by type of ownership, indicates their sown areas and sowing volume. Industry leaders were especially noted. Difficulties encountered by enterprises in the course of economic activity are described. The data on the volume of state support for elite seed production provided within the framework of the state program "Development of Agriculture in the Altai Territory" are given.
