The state of the environment of the Kaluga region as a factor in the sustainable development of the region

The article deals with the quality of the natural environment in the context of sustainable economic development of the Kaluga region. The level of quality of the natural environment is represented by three indicators. The level of air pollution by emissions from stationary sources is consistently reduced. At the same time, there is a tendency to the deterioration of sanitary and hygienic condition of the sanitary state of water bodies in the places of water use of the population and in the places of recreation of the population. This necessitates the adoption by Federal and regional authorities of regulatory, legal and organizational measures aimed at preserving the quality of the natural environment.
